We are pleased to announce the Eighth Annual Women of Color Empowerment Conference. The conference will focus on educating and motivating dynamic Women of Color to lead more effectively.

The conference programming will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Friday, September 7 at 4:00 PM
    Opening Session and Reception – Psychologist, writer and teacher Gay Hendricks, Ph.D., will present Taking the Big Leap Into Conscious Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence. The session will be followed by A Fireside Chat with Vanessa De’Luca, former Editor-in-Chief of Essence Magazine. The evening will conclude with a Diversity Reception by the sea for attendees and invited guests. Continuing education credits for mental health professionals will be available.
  • Saturday, September 8 from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
    Empowerment Conference – A full day of sessions to educate, encourage and cultivate women leaders includes the powerful luncheon featuring April Ryan. Other Saturday featured sessions include: Healthy Living with chef Carla Hall, host of “The Chew”; as well as dynamic panel discussion entitled The Superwoman Syndrome with star of the Oprah Winfrey Network’s “Greenleaf” Lamman Rucker, “Black Panther” actress Sope Aluko, and comedian/author Kim Coles. A range of expert panels on public sector, private sector and personal leadership issues and trends will be presented.
