The Women of Color Empowerment Conference is a three-day destination conference where hundreds of multicultural affluent and influential women leaders from across the country convene. The Eighth Annual Women of Color Empowerment Conference will take place Friday through Sunday, September 7th – 9th, 2018 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It will kick off Friday with an Opening Reception overlooking the beautiful Fort Lauderdale Beach, followed by “Fireside Chat” featuring a thought provoking, nationally renowned woman leader.
Saturday is our main programming day. Saturday includes a full day of informative panels on headline topics that are especially important to women of color. Year after year, the conference has attracted top nationally renowned speakers, all experts in their respective fields. The conference starts with a breakfast and flows immediately into the “Hot Topics” of the day. Past areas of “Hot Topic” coverage have included leadership trends; media images and women of color; business and corporate strategies for success; technology advancements; effective communication tools for high-level professionals; health care matters; running for public office; economic development strategies; and so much more. There is always an informative and entertaining luncheon featuring a powerful keynote speaker. The conference offers both full group panels, as well as multiple breakout panels where attendees can select their interest areas. The Saturday afternoon closeout party includes a graduation ceremony for the current cohort of the highly competitive Women of Color Empowerment Institute, Inc.’s Professional Leadership Mentorship Program.
Our Spirit of Sisterhood Breakfast takes place on day three, Sunday. The delicious breakfast is also a conference highlight featuring a keynote speaker who is both inspiring and informative. The live music and soulful sounds heard during the breakfast are a perfect ending to the conference.
The Women of Color Empowerment Conference has evolved into a “must attend” conference for leaders, especially women of color. The conference sells out weeks in advance and offers unparalleled programming.
The 2018 conference will take place at one of the best resorts in South Florida, the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa. Attendees leave the conference refreshed and with the realization that there is value in forming relationships with other high energy, motivated and accomplished professionals.
